Maintenance
The best way to keep a pool in proper working order is to make sure that it is regularly maintained. Because water is a natural breeding ground for bacteria, it isn’t enough to simply fill your pool an leave it to sit. Even if you have proper devices in place, and working, such as drains and vents, this doesn’t mean your pool is okay all the time. Those drains need to be regularly cleaned, the water needs to be regularly treated it’s special chemicals and your pool will need to be drained and have its liner looked at, every once in a while.
Water Treatment One of the best ways to properly maintain a pool is to make sure that the water is properly treated. It is very important to keep water pH levels at the proper balance, otherwise the water can actually harm, not only your pool lining, but people inside the water as well. Having chemicals in the water is necessary, as they help to fight the growth, and spread, of bacteria. This is especially necessary in commercial pools, where there are lots of bodies. While you can buy home testing kits, we recommend letting professionals, such as ourselves, regularly check on your pool. Cleaning Pool cleaning is another amazing way to make sure that your pool lasts for years to come. It might not make sense to you that something that contains water needs to be cleaned, but it sure does! You can think of it as a large bathtub; bathtubs have soap and water running all over them, all the time. But, eventually, the soap starts to build up and form soap scum, which makes your bathtub dirty. The exact same thing happens with pools; as chemicals, and dirt, cling to the tiles and liner, they build up, causing bacterial and mold growth and this needs to be eliminated. Draining In winter months, one of the best things to do, to make sure your pool doesn’t crack, is draining the pool completely. This can seem like a really daunting task for you, but it doesn’t need to be. We can bring out a pump system that will get the water out of your pool, and flushed away from your home, in no time at all. We can do all of the work for you, so that you don’t even need to think about it! An empty pool has far less chance of freezing in winter. Crack Sealing If you do start to experience cracking in your pool liner, there are lots of things that we can do to try and fix this issue for you. We can apply a patch to your cracks, which can help to stop the crack from spreading and will strengthen your liner at the same time. We can also fill liner cracks with special sealant, so that water will not get between the liner and the actual earth. Crack sealing is a sure-fire way to prolong the life of your pool. |
