Openings And Closings

pool outside the house
While we do have incredibly nice summers in Maryland, perfect for pool parties and gatherings, we also have very cold winters. Because of this, if you have a pool in your home or commercial building, one of the best ways to protect it, during the winter season, is to have a cover installed. Covers come in either soft material, or hard material, and the way in which they are placed upon your pool range from rolling them out, to placing them down by hand, to having a fully automated system put in place.

Hard Top
A hard top is the best way to protect your pool during the winter months. A hard top helps to keep frost, snow and ice out of your pool water which, in turn, will help to prevent your pool from freezing and cracking its own liner. Hard tops also have great benefits during summer months, as well. Hard tops make it nearly impossible for animals to get in to your pool and they secure your pool from unwanted visitors. Hard top covers also help to prevent any accidents from happening, such as people falling in to your water.

Soft Top
If you are budget-conscious and need a great option, that won’t break the bank, a soft top pool cover could be the right choice for you. A soft top will also help to prevent critters or debris from getting in to your pool, but it won’t have the benefit of protecting your pool water from freezing. If you have a soft top installed, we recommend draining your pool in the winter months. Soft tops can be hooked up to a rolling or automated system, or they can be simply laid over the top of your pool by hand.

Rollers
A rolling system is a great way to make the process of covering your poo, as easy as possible. With this type of system, we install a large spool on one end of your pool, that your pool cover is wound up in to. When you need to cover your pool, you can simply pull the cover out from the spool and lay it over the pool surface. Rollers help to keep your cover nice, clean and looking new and they aid in the ease of covering your pool up. With a roller installed, covering your pool is super easy to do.

Automated
If you have the budget to get an automated system, especially for a commercial building, this is really the best way to go. An automated system acts much like a roller system, except that, in this case, you don’t need to manually wind, or unwind, your pool cover. With the push of a button, your pool cover can, either, roll out to cover your pool, or roll up to uncover it. There are also systems, which can be installed, that are capable of automatically covering, and uncovering, your pool with a hard top cover. If you want to go this route, please let us talk to you about options.
